Shadow Point is a whimsical puzzle-based adventure game that follows the
adventure of Alex Burkett to find the missing child, Lorna X at an abandoned
observation point with the assistance of Edgar Mansfield's journal.


XR Games brought the critically acclaimed title to the PlayStation VR. This required a number of design considerations to accommodate the differences in hardware in addition to following Sony's TRCs.

Responsibilities:​​
 

  • Remapping the game's control scheme from the meta quest to the PlayStation Move controller, taking note of the differences in button layout. This resulted in removing free movement due to a lack of analog sticks and redesigning interactions to accommodate the changes.

    Reworking the tutorial sequence to accommodate the remapped control scheme. Ensuring that all hardware terminology is correctly presented per the Sony TRCs.

  • Retouched existing trophy icons to align with newly created trophies.
     

  • Created wireframes of new & altered UI to reflect the changes to the hardware and remapped control scheme.
     

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for design considerations, localisation sheets, updated trophy lists, and asset lists.
     

  • Wrote new in-game text that complies with Sony's TRC specifications. As well
    as tracking related TRCs on the Sony Devnet.
     

  • Assisted QA in bug testing and fixing any design-related issues. 
     

  • Attended Client meetings to update their production team on the project's progress. As well as raising any questions or concerns with the development.
     

  • Communicated across departments to ensure the design changes were implemented and functioning correctly
